ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Jockey Steven Bahen swept both Woodbine stakes on Sunday, aboard Simply Lovely in the $165,900 Fanfreluche, and on Le Cinquieme Essai in the $106,000 Labeeb.

Simply Lovely sat just off front-running Something Brewing in the six-furlong Fanfreluche, and took control at the quarter pole before coasting to a two and three-quarter length triumph. The final time was 1:12.41 seconds.

"She broke good and relaxed a little," said Bahen. "When I asked her to pick it up, she started dragging me along, and it was all over."

Simply Lovely, who returned $3.20 as the favorite, banked $99,540 in her third stakes victory for owner Rocco Marcello and trainer Bob Tiller.

Silver Impulse rallied wide to finish second, while Susur wound up third in the eight-horse field.

* The Paul Nielsen-trained Le Cinquieme Essai ($7.70) led throughout most of the Labeeb, completing a mile over yielding turf in 1:38.83 seconds.

Silver Ticket edged Tusayan by a head for second, while ending up a length and a half behind the winner, who earned $63,600 for owner William Scott.
