Silver Tongued, under jockey Albin Jimenez, outlasted a field of older Ohio-bred horses and won the $50,000 Governor's Buckeye at ThistleDown on Sunday afternoon.

Trained by Jeff Greenhill, Silver Tongued won the 1 1/4-mile race by a half-length over Fuzzy Dee Jay, who led late. The pacesetter Stormin Larry settled for third, three lengths behind Fuzzy Dee Jay.

Silver Tongued ran the 1 1/4 miles over a fast track in 2:07.06 and returned $7.80 to win.
