Silver Sashay wins fourth straight in Claiming Crown Distaff Dash

Silver Sashay wins the Claiming Crown Distaff Dash by a half-length Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

Silver Sashay won her fourth consecutive race Saturday, when she handled a wet track in the off-the-turf Claiming Crown Distaff Dash at Gulfstream Park.

Silver Sashay led throughout the $110,000 stakes for fillies and mares for a half-length win over Sunrise Kitty. It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to Katie O.

Silver Sashay ($11.40) bounded to the front in the Distaff Dash and took the field through an opening quarter in 22.41 seconds while pressured by Katie O. Silver Sashay proceeded to lead through a half-mile in 45.49 and completed the five-eighths on a track rated good in 57.90.

Edgard Zayas was aboard the winner for trainer Alfred McIntosh.

Silver Sashay had won her previous three starts in turf sprints, all at Gulfstream Park, including the $60,000 Bougainvillea Handicap on July 18. She was a $12,500 claim last summer at Gulfstream.

Silver Sashay, who earned $60,500 in the Distaff Dash, is owned by Acclaimed Racing Stable. She now has won 11 of 30 starts and earned $303,265. Silver Sashay is a 5-year-old by Eurosilver, and she was bred in Florida by Emerald Pastures Corp.
