Silver Frost well prepped for Criterium International

Trainer Yves de Nicolay can cap a career year at Saint-Cloud on Sunday when he sends out Silver Frost in the Group 1, $323,000 Criterium International for 2-year-old colts and fillies going a mile.

A Verglas colt, Silver Frost was a course-and-distance winner on Oct. 10, taking the Group 3 Prix Thomas Bryon by two lengths from Fuisse, who tests him again on Saturday. Trained by Criquette Head-Maarek, Fuisse is a half-brother to last year's 1 1/4-mile Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner, Full of Gold. Stephane Pasquier rides Silver Frost, while Thierry Gillet takes the reins on Fuisse.

The Paul Cole-trained British invader, Serva Jugum, a son of Fusaichi Pegasus out of Group 1 Coronation Stakes winner Shake the Yoke, is eligible to improve off a two-length maiden debut score going a mile on the Kempton Park Polytrack.
