Silent Tears returns quick at Pinnacle

Silent Tears looks to move to the head of the 3-year-old filly class at Pinnacle Race Course when she faces 10 statebred rivals in the $50,000 Regret Stakes. The six-furlong fixture is the eighth of nine races on the 2:30 p.m. Eastern card.

Unsuccessful during the spring at Tampa Bay Downs, Silent Tears won at first asking here a week ago under Freddie Mata, who retains the mount for trainer Ronnie Allen. On that day, she was clear early and drew off to win by 4 1/2 lengths, earning a 59 Beyer Figure. She is owned by Pinnacle CEO Felicia Campbell and Bill Barrett. Campbell Stables bred the daughter of Gold Case and Crafty Tears.

Leading trainer Robert Gorham has entered a trio. Baba Booyah finished a nose behind stablemate She Could be Good in a first-level allowance on June 9 after moving outside and rallying through the stretch. Ricardo Barrios, who leads all riders here through Tuesday's races, gets a return call.

Marion Gorham owns Baba Booyah, as well as Ittybittymeadow. Gorham also entered Moon Charmer for owner Henry Mast.

Peak of the Storm, stakes-placed here last year, recently won her maiden by seven lengths in a Presque Isle Downs $25,000 claimer, earning a 62 Beyer in the process. Ricky Knott will ride for owner Richard Hammer and trainer Larry Penner.
