ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Silent Sonet finally got a clean trip in a stakes, and she parlayed it into an authoritative score in Sunday’s $125,000 La Prevoyante Stakes at Woodbine. Silent Sonet ($3.10) tracked second choice Listenlindalisten through quick fractions in the one-mile turf route for Ontario-sired 3-year-old fillies. She assumed command early in the stretch, and then drew off to prevail by 6 1/4 lengths, in a time of 1:34.37. Red Cabernet edged out another longshot, Deesse Nike, for second. Listenlindalisten faded to fourth, and was followed by Hailey’s Prize, a troubled Kadley, Lisa’s Escarpment, and Cindervella. Eurico Da Silva got a leg up from trainer Nick Gonzalez on Silent Sonet, who banked $75,000 for owner Ivan Dalos. The daughter of Silent Name had experienced a troubled run in each of her only two losses, in the Alywow and Passing Mood Stakes. “I was very confident that this filly was going to run very big,” Da Silva said. “She’s a very nice filly. We were in the perfect position. In the turn, my horse was just galloping. When I asked her, she just broke from there.”
