Sikura buys into Nassau County winner

Email

John Sikura of Hill 'n' Dale Farms has privately purchased an unspecified interest in Dream Rush, winner of the Grade 2 Nassau County Breeders' Cup Stakes at Belmont by more than nine lengths earlier this month.

A 3-year-old Wild Rush filly, Dream Rush has been campaigned by West Point Thoroughbreds, Lewis Lakin, and William H. Lawrence. She will continue to carry the West Point silks, and Rick Violette will continue as her trainer.

Dream Rush is the first stakes winner for the unraced Unbridled mare Turbo Dream. Turbo Dream, 9, is also the dam of stakes-placed Neeranjanie, by Gentlemen.

Sikura has been acquiring interests in high-class fillies and mares at a strong clip in the last year. He is part-owner of Magnificience, who has won both her starts by a combined 11 1/2 lengths. He also is part-owner of Better Than Honour, the dam of Kentucky Oaks winner Rags to Riches. At last year's Keeneland November auction, his purchases included $6 million Madcap Escapade, $4.5 million Sassy Pants, and $1.8 million Point Ashley.
