Sightseeing retired from races

Grade 2 winner Sightseeing has retired from racing and will enter stud in 2009 at Richland Hills in Midway, Ky. The farm will announce a fee for the 4-year-old Pulpit colt at a later date.

Trained by Shug McGaughey for breeder and owner Ogden Mills Phipps, Sightseeing won the Grade 2 Peter Pan last year, finished second in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial and Grade 3 Nashua Stakes, and finished third in the Grade 2 Dwyer and Jim Dandy. This season, he was third in Belmont's Grade 3 Westchester Handicap. He retires with lifetime earnings of $508,401 from 2 wins, 5 seconds, and 5 third-place finishes from 18 starts.

Sightseeing is out of Resort, a Grade 1-placed daughter of Pleasant Colony.
