Showing Up works at Belmont

Showing Up, the Lexington Stakes winner, worked four furlongs in 49.63 seconds Monday morning at Belmont Park in preparation for Saturday's 132nd Kentucky Derby. Jockey Cornelio Velasquez was up for the move.

Trainer Barclay Tagg said he thought the work was a little slower than he was looking for, but still plans to send the unbeaten colt to Louisville on Thursday for Saturday's 132nd Kentucky Derby.

Belmont clockers timed Showing Up's first quarter in 24 seconds and caught him galloping out five furlongs in 1:03.60.
