Shipper heads Breeders' Special

Shade On ships in from her base in Minnesota to head a field of six Nebraska-bred 3-year-old fillies in the $20,000 Breeders' Special at Lincoln.

Shade On, trained by Tim Anderson, is still seeking her first win this season but has been running well. She was a narrowly beaten second in the Fonner Park Special in April and third against mid-level allowance company at Canterbury. Jerry Carkeek, who returned from an injury this week, has the ride.

Phyllee Rae, fourth in the Fonner Special, is coming off a front-running win here against entry-level competition on May 25 and should again be a threat for trainer Jason Wise. She turned in a bullet work of 46.80 seconds here June 28 and will have leading rider Dennis Collins aboard.

I Talk, the pacesetter in the Fonner Special before fading to sixth, has also shown the ability to lay just off the pace and will bear watching from the barn of Marv Johnson. She has been off since a third in the Princess Stakes here May 13.
