Shipper Docalady one to beat

EDMONTON, Alberta - Visiting her fifth track in as many starts of her young career, Docalady drew post 4 in a field of nine two-year-old fillies in Sunday's $50,000 Princess Margaret at Northlands Park.

Docalady, one of two invaders for this six-furlong stake, has been the public choice in all of her appearances.

After finishing second at Hawthorne and Arlington in maiden special weight races, Docalady won her maiden in an $18,000 claimer at Churchill Downs. Docalady then ran fourth in the Timber Music Stakes at her new home at Hastings.

Trainer Michael Turner has assigned Vancouver-based Nicola Wright to ride. All nine fillies will carry 117 pounds.

Trainer Lance Giesbecht has named Real Simard to ride Autumn Mist, a second Vancouver shipper who won her first start, then finished seventh in the Timber Music.

Drawing the rail was Nashwaak Dancer, who won her only outing by more than seven lengths. Stephan Heiler gains the return mount.

Q Tee Q, ridden by Shannon Bureaugard; Tartan Star; and Sassy Sarah have all won their only starts, and could be factors.

Kaylee's Magic will be making her first start. She and Sassy Sarah are trained by Greg Tracy.

Awesome Deal, who drew the outside post, is coming off a more than four-length victory in her second outing.

Quiet Bear will be making her third start.
