A She's Adorable up to win Rooney Memorial


A She's Adorable picked up her first stakes victory Saturday at Delaware Park, coming from off the pace to win the $76,050 John Rooney Memorial Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths.

As Ainamaa led the field through a half-mile in 50.31 seconds, with Trensa right behind in the 1 1/16-mile turf stakes, A She's Adorable sat back in third with Anna Napravnik aboard. After six furlongs in 1:14.06, A She's Adorable made her move outside the leaders and the three battled through the stretch before A She's Adorable pulled clear for the victory. Ainamaa held second, finishing three-quarters of a length ahead of third-place Trensa. The favored The Gaillimh Girl was never in serious contention and finished fifth in the field of eight fillies and mares.

A She's Adorable paid $6.80 to win and covered the distance in 1:43.56.

A She's Adorable, a 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Johar, is trained by Michael Stidham for owner Phillip Mass. She has now won 4 of 10 starts and earned $160,600.
