Sharp winners square off

AUBURN, Wash. - Prolific winners Bold Tizzy and Miz Mitzie will meet in Sunday's Emerald Downs feature, a six-furlong race for fillies and mares that will be run under $25,000 optional claiming conditions.

Bold Tizzy, winner of six of her 13 career starts, is working on a four-race win streak that began with a victory over restricted $7,500 company on June 24. She returned to defeat open company for $7,500, $10,000, and $15,000 tags. Bold Tizzy's most recent score came by 2 1/2 lengths, running six furlongs in 1:10.40 on Aug. 26. Bold Tizzy, a 5-year-old daughter of Cee's Tizzy trained by Dan Kenney, will be ridden by Ricky Frazier.

Miz Mitzie, a 4-year-old Tricky Creek filly trained by Bill Smith, has won six of 18 career starts, including three of her five tries at the current meet. Miz Mitzie is coming off a neck victory over Star Amethyst while racing for a $20,000 tag on Sept. 4, going six furlongs in 1:10. Debbie Hoonan rides.

Star Amethyst is also in Sunday's field of seven and figures to get a favorable trip behind Bold Tizzy and Miz Mitzie, both of whom do their best running on the lead. Star Amethyst, a 4-year-old daughter of Slewdledo trained by Steve Bullock, has won 4 of 13 starts, including a score over $20,000 rivals before her recent loss to Miz Mitzie.

Also dangerous is Breezing Louise, who is one of two 3-year-olds in the field. Breezing Louise has won five of 12 starts, including four of six at the meet.
