Sharp rivals meet again in sprint

Brahms Beauty and You and Me Baby, who have combined to win 11 races the past two seasons at Northlands Park, meet for the third time in Wednesday's featured seventh race at Northlands Park. The $22,000 claiming race for fillies and mares going six furlongs drew seven horses.

Brahms Beauty, trained by Pam McDougall, is coming off of a win going six furlongs in $13,000 claiming race on May 28. It was her fifth win in eight starts since she arrived at Northlands last year after showing poor form at Woodbine. She closed out her 2009 campaign with a win over You and Me Baby in a $10,000 claiming race last Oct. 7.

You and Me Baby, trained by Ray Tracy, beat Brahms Beauty in a $17,500 claiming race going 3 1/2 furlongs on May 15. Last year she won 5 of 10 starts. Overall, she has won 11 of 41 starts and more than $200,000.

Ladee Judee and Minimus make up a strong entry for trainer Red Smith. Minimus will be running in a straight claiming race for the first time since she won for $25,000 in 2007. In 2008, she won the $75,000 Fall Distaff Classic but went winless in five starts last year. She is coming off a fourth-place finish in an optional $40,000 claimer last Wednesday.

Ladee Judee, making her first start since January, looked sharp winning a $15,000 claiming race going 3 1/2 furlongs on May 22.
