ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Kentucky invader Shaconage overhauled favored Hour of Justice at the eighth pole en route to a decisive score in the $153,875 Ontario Colleen Handicap at Woodbine Sunday.

Shaconage returned $33.20 while making her stakes debut in the one-mile turf event for 3-year-old fillies. She raced far off a quick early pace under Joe Johnson, who swung her out wide for the drive. Hour of Justice assumed command early in the stretch, but she began to flatten out as Shaconage blew by. Shaconage went on to complete the distance in 1:33.76. My Pal Lana finished another two and a half lengths back third in the 13-horse field.

"She didn't break very sharp, and I got shuffled back to second last," said Johnson. "I sat with her and sat with her, and she finished very strong after I angled her out."

Shaconage, who is trained by Mitch Shirota, earned $89,625 for owner/breeder Andrena Van Doren.

[]Heyahohowdy ($16.60) gamely turned back a challenge from 4-5 favorite Inish Glora in the stretch to capture Sunday's supporting feature, the $106,000 Belle Geste Stakes, a nine-furlong turf tilt for Canadian-bred fillies and mares.
