For the second day in a row, a juvenile from the first crop of well-regarded Cairo Prince took a star turn at the under-tack preview show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age. Sexyama, a filly by the young Pioneerof the Nile stallion, worked three-eighths of a mile in 32 3/5 seconds on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface. It was the fastest time for the session among horses working that distance, and ranked just behind an Uncle Mo colt, Mo Mississippi, who worked in 32 2/5 seconds on Thursday to establish the fastest overall time. One day earlier, a filly by Cairo Prince worked a quarter in 20 2/5 seconds to establish the fastest time for that option. It was not matched on Friday, with the closest being a colt from the first crop of Fed Biz, who went in 20 3/5 seconds from the consignment of Potrero Stables, agent. :: Get breeding & sales news, Beyer info, and more delivered right to your email! Sexyama, who is a half-sister to stakes placed Cowboy Cool, has started once for owner Hal Hatch and trainer Joe Sharp, finishing fifth in a maiden special weight at Keeneland on April 19. The winner of that race, Athens Queen, came back to take the Astoria Stakes on Thursday at Belmont Park. Hatch purchased the filly for $55,000 out of the consignment of breeder Airdrie Stud out of the Keeneland September yearling sale. He entered Sexyama for the OBS March sale of 2-year-olds in training, where she failed to make her reserve with a high bid of $55,000. Halcyon Hammock Farm consigned the filly as agent at that sale, and has her in the barn again this time. A Dialed In colt and a Munnings colt each breezed an eighth in 9 4/5 seconds on Friday, tying them with a pair of juveniles from Thursday's session for the fastest furlong. The Dialed In colt, consigned by de Meric Sales, as agent, is from the immediate family of graded stakes winner Blushing Heiress. Bloodstock agent Randy Bradshaw will consign Getthe Muny Bernie, a half-brother to stakes winner Beyond the Reach.
