Sexton is new Arlington president

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Steve Sexton, brought into the Arlington management team as an executive vice president this year, has taken over for Scott Mordell as the president of Arlington Park. Mordell, president and CEO of Arlington since 1995, will move into a position as executive vice president at Duchossois Industries Inc.

Sexton has a more extensive background in racing than did Mordell, who had worked for Duchossois Industries and public accounting firms when he began his Arlington tenure in 1992 as vice president of finance and administration. Sexton has been employed by racetracks across the country and was executive vice president and general manager at Lone Star Park before coming to Arlington.

Last year, Arlington merged with Churchill Downs Inc., a transaction that made longtime Arlington chairman of the board Dick Duchossois the major stockholder in CDI. This is Arlington's first full racing season under the CDI umbrella.
