Seven more juveniles breeze a furlong in 10 seconds at OBS


The fifth day of the under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age saw seven horses tie for the fastest time for an eighth of a mile, covering the distance in 10 seconds flat.

Following are the horses who turned in the fastest one-furlong breezes Thursday over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

• Hip 822, a High Cotton filly out of the winning Southern Halo mare Send for an Angel, who has had two winners from three foals to race. The Florida-bred is from the family of Breeders' Cup Sprint mare Very Subtle and is consigned as agent by Craig Wheeler.

• Hip 840, a Hard Spun filly out of the stakes-winning Storm Boot mare She Does Rock, whose one winner from three foals to race is the Grade 2-placed stakes winner Amaranth. Stakes winners Juke Joint, Headache Tree, and Tollway can be found in the extended family. Bobby Dodd consigns the filly as agent. 

• Hip 845, Awesome Buddy, a first-crop Biondetti colt out of the winning Exploit mare She's Enough, who has had four winners from five foals to race. Grade 1 winner and notable sire D'wildcat is on the page, as is Grade 3 winner Sail to Rome. Bobby Dodd consigns the Florida-bred as agent.

• Hip 914, a Wildcat Heir filly out of the placed Buddha mare Stifled, whose three foals to race are all winners. Japanese champion Asakusa Kings and Grade/Group 3 winners Kurino Star O and San Onofre can be found on the page. Southern Cypress Stables consigns the Florida-bred as agent.

• Hip 946, Tiz a Sweetie, a Tizway filly out of the unraced Forestry mare Sweetheart Legacy, from the family of multiple Grade 2 winner Bolshoi Boy, Grade 3-placed stakes winner Russian Diplomacy, and Grade 1-placed Sam P. Tiz a Sweetie is consigned by Woodside Ranch as agent.

• Hip 952, Alanite, a first-crop Aikenite colt who is the first foal out of the placed Exchange Rate mare Switcheroo. Grade 1 winner and prominent sire Dixie Union can be found on the page, along with Grade 2 winners I Spent It, Zavata, and She's Tops. He is consigned by Crupi's New Castle Farm as agent.

• Hip 999, a Niagara Causeway colt out of the placed Thunder Gulch mare Trench Cat, who has had three winners from four runners. The Texas-bred colt is from the family of Grade 2 winners Nicole H and Something Extra and is consigned by McKathan Bros. as agent.

Four juveniles tied for the fastest time for a quarter-mile, breezing in 21 1/5 seconds.

• Hip 916, Pappagallo, a first-crop Overdriven colt out of the Grade 3-placed stakes-winning Mountain Cat mare Storm Flag, who is the dam of three winners from six foals to race. The Florida-bred's extended family includes Australian Group 2 winner Fire Up Fifi and Grade 3 winner Distinct Reality. Pappagallo is consigned by New Hope.

• Hip 925, a Harlan's Holiday colt out of the placed Kris S. mare Stunning Image, who has had two winners from three foals to race. Notable family members include champion Queen of the Stage, Grade 1 winners Seeking the Gold and Fast Play, Grade 2 winners Nefertini and King Cugat, and Grade/Group 3 winners Stacked Pack, Survivalist, Gamble Me, and Rey de Cafe. Thoroughbred Champions Training Center consigns the colt as agent.

• Hip 946, a City Zip colt out of the Grade 3-placed Successful Appeal mare Successful Sarah, whose two foals to race are both winners. Italian classic winner Bahadir can be found in the family tree of the Florida-bred, who is consigned by Stephens Thoroughbreds as agent.

• Hip 940, an Uncle Mo colt out of the placed Stormy Atlantic mare Surrender, from the family of Kentucky Derby winner Sea Hero, Grade 2 winners Glowing Honor and Mr. Mellon, and Grade/Group 3 winners Mackie, Coronation Cup, Seeking the Best, and Mawingo. The New York-bred is consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center as agent.

The final session of the breeze show takes place Friday, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Eastern. The auction takes place next Tuesday through Friday, starting each day at 10:30 a.m.
