Seven juveniles zip a furlong in 10 seconds at OBS


The fourth session of the under-tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. June sale of 2-year-olds in training and horses of racing age on Wednesday saw seven horses tie for the fastest breeze at an eighth of a mile, covering the distance in 10 seconds flat.

Following are the horses who hit the mark over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface.

• Hip 648, a Drosselmeyer filly out of the stakes-winning Successful Appeal mare Our Eleanor, who has not had a foal reach the racetrack. Stakes winners Pretty Jane and Foot Stone can be found in the family of the filly, who is consigned by C & J Stable.

• Hip 654, a Successful Appeal colt out of the winning Seeking the Gold mare Pacific Jewel, who is the dam of four winners from six runners, including Grade 3-placed Van Damme. His page is highlighted by Grade 1 winner Officer's Ball and stakes winners Hidden City, Pledge Card, Frankly Classic, and French Hideaway. Eisaman Equine consigns the colt as agent.

• Hip 660, a Trappe Shot filly out of the winning Hennessy mare Passion Overflow, whose first foal to race is Irish stakes winner Bebhinn. Second dam Polar Bird, a Group 3 winner in Ireland, is the pivot point for runners including English Group 1 winner Ocean Ridge, Group 2-placed stakes winner Fokine, and stakes winners My Redbyrd and Polar Circle. She is consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds as agent.

• Hip 678, a First Defence colt out of the Alphabet Soup mare Platinum Bride, who has not had a foal reach the racetrack. The page features Alwuhush, a Grade/Group 1 winner in the U.S. and Italy and the leading sire in Australia; Grade 1 winner Husband; and Grade 2 winner Simply Majestic. Brick City Thoroughbreds consigns the colt as agent.

• Hip 715, a first-crop Hansen filly out of the unplaced Indian Charlie filly Proud Indian, whose first foal to race is placed. She is from the family of Kentucky Oaks winner Summerly and Grade 3 winner Darby Shuffle. The filly is consigned by Wavertree Stable as agent.

• Hip 745, Thisone'sfor Ang, a Cool Coal Man filly out of the Grand Slam mare Raphaela, who is the dam of two winners from three foals to race. Top Line Sales, as agent, consigns the Florida-bred, who hails from the family of two-time champion Life's Magic, Grade 1 winner Spectacular Tide, and Grade 3 winner Heckle.

• Hip 776, a Sky Mesa colt out of the winning El Corredor mare Royal Corredor, who has had one winner from two foals to race. The New York-bred is from the family of Grade 1 winner Personal Hope, Grade 2 winner Devil's Preacher, and Italian classic-placed Coral Reef. Crupi's New Castle Farm consigns the colt as agent.

Three horses tied for the day’s fastest time at a quarter-mile, stopping the clock in 21 1/5 seconds.

• Hip 615, a Colonel John filly out of the unraced Red Bullet mare Mystery Bullet, who is the dam of one winner from three foals to race. The Florida-bred is from the family of Grade 3 winner Hamazing Destiny and stakes winners Forty Thieves, Only a Glance, Devilish Erica, Glitter Rox, and Salty Glance. Wavertree Stables consigns the filly as agent.

• Hip 744, Crack On, a Horse Greely colt out of the stakes-placed Salt Lake mare Raintree Lake, whose five foals to race are all winners. Stakes-winning second dam Nice Gal is the pivot point for runners including Grade 1 winners Perfect Drift and Force the Pass, Grade 3 winner Social Queen, and Grade 3-placed stakes winner Gal on the Go. Crack On is also consigned as agent by Wavertree Stables.

• Hip 789, a first-crop Gemologist colt out of the stakes-winning Rahy mare Ruthian, whose nine foals to race are all winners, including Grade 1 winner Rutherienne, Grade 3 winner Ruthenia, stakes winner Ruthville, and stakes-placed Bigwig. Grade 3 winner Adcat can be found in the extended family. He is consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center as agent.

The breeze show continues through Friday, beginning each day at 7:30 a.m. Eastern. The auction will be held June 14-17, starting daily at 10:30 a.m.
