Sequel Stallions in Hudson, N.Y., announced the fees for its 2016 stallions, led once again by Freud, a perennial leading sire in the Empire State. Freud, a 17-year-old son of Storm Cat, will stand for $10,000, unchanged from the 2015 season. Emcee, a 7-year-old Unbridled’s Song horse, will stand for $5,000, down from $7,500 from 2015, while Desert Party, a 9-year-old son of Street Cry, had his fee decreased from $7,500 to $4,000. All other returning members of the Sequel Stallions roster will stand for the same fee as they had this year. Sequel Stallions offers multiple mare discounts, as well as rewards for repeat breeders. The stallions will be available for inspection at the farm’s annual stallion showcase on Jan. 23.
