Second party canceled over copyright issue

LAS VEGAS - The Orleans on Friday became the second casino to cancel a large-scale Super Bowl party after receiving a letter from the NFL saying it would be in violation of copyright law.

A statement on the website for the Orleans's arena, orleansarena.com, said that a Super Bowl party to be held there on Sunday had been canceled, and that the cancelation "was the result of correspondence from the National Football League's legal counsel. The event will not be rescheduled. Fans may watch the game in the Orleans Hotel Casino, where television monitors will be broadcasting the game."

Phone calls to an Orleans spokesman on Friday were not returned.
