Second City targets Indiana Derby

Second City will make his next start in the Indiana Derby at Hoosier Park.

Second City, winner of the British Columbia Derby at Hastings Park who was recently acquired by Paul Reddam, will make his next start in the $500,000 Indiana Derby at Hoosier Park on Oct. 6, trainer Ben Cecil said.

Second City is scheduled to arrive at Cecil’s stable at Santa Anita later this week.

A gelding by Distorted Humor, Second City is unbeaten in four starts at Penn National, Charles Town, and Hastings. The British Columbia Derby on Sept. 9 was his stakes debut.

Fed Biz, winner of the El Cajon Stakes at Del Mar on Aug. 31, and Nonios, fifth in the Travers Stakes at Saratoga in August, are two California-based candidates for the Indiana Derby.
