Seasahm delivers as 3-2 favorite

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Seasahm lived up to her role as the 3-2 favorite when she captured the $50,000 Princess Elaine Stakes at Canterbury Park on Friday.

Tracking moderate fractions of 23.92 seconds, 48.81, and 1:13.04 set by A. J. Bakes, jockey Derek Bell urged Seasahm to gain a contending position entering the far turn. Seasahm ($5) responded with a sustained rally, moving to command four deep in the stretch, then edged Sahm Sweetheart by a length at the wire while completing 1 1/16 miles on firm turf in 1:43.90.

Chasin Mason finished another 2 3/4 lengths behind in third.

Seasahmis trained by Mac Robertson and campaigned by her owner-breeders Carol Curtis and Camelia Casby.
