Seacrettina quickest in Silver Spur

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Seacrettina put on a show of speed in the $75,000 Silver Spur Breeders' Cup for 2-year-old fillies at Lone Star Park on Saturday, winning the six-furlong race in a rapid time of 1:10.49.

"She’s the real deal," said jockey Ken Tohill, who rode Seacrettina for trainer Joe Petalino.

Seacrettina ($8) was bumped at the start of the Silver Spur, but recovered quickly to take command through an opening quarter in 22.47 seconds. She was later joined by Time Well Spent through a half-mile in 45.67, disposed of that one at the top of the stretch, then pulled away by 6 1/4 lengths to remain undefeated in two career starts. "It was very effortless today," said Tohill.

Time Well Spent held second, finishing six lengths clear of third-place finisher Bridesmaid.

Seacrettina came into the Silver Spur off an impressive debut win in May for which she earned a Beyer Figure of 79. She is a daughter of Sea of Secrets.
