Scottish Heritage wins Creme De La Creme


Scottish Heritage($24) won her third straight race Saturday night when she powered to a one-length win over Rubies N Roses in the $50,000 Creme De La Creme for 3-year-old statebred fillies at Delta Downs in Vinton, La.

It was another half-length back in third to Letithappencaptain.

Scottish Heritage settled in fifth early in the six and a half furlong race, which was held around two turns, while favorite Kool K.J., set fractions of 24.11 seconds for the opening quarter and 48.96 seconds for the half-mile mark. Through the stretch, Scottish Heritage closed strong to cover the distance over a fast track in 1:21.51.

Chandra Rennie rode the winner for Highland Racing and trainer Kelly Broussard.

Scottish Heritage earned $30,000 for the win, which was her first in a stakes and third victory overall from eight career starts. Her earnings now stand at $59,675.
