Schoolin You upsets in Lads Stakes

AUBURN, Wash. - Schoolin You upset six rivals in Sunday's $53,910 WTBA Lads Stakes for 2-year-olds, coming from well back to prevail by half a length over second choice Raise the Bluff in 1:37.20. Coastal King got third, while 3-5 favorite Tusko T. was never prominent and finished sixth.

Schoolin You, a son of You and I from the barn of trainer Jim Penney, entered the race as a maiden after four starts. He paid $27.20 to win and earned $29,651 for his owners, Mike and Amy Feuerborn and John and Janene Maryanski. Miguel Perez rode.

It was the second stunner in as many days for Penney, the Feuerborns and Perez, who won Saturday's Barbara Shinpoch Stakes with Chestnut Lady at 11-1.
