Harmonize adds to the late Scat Daddy's credentials with a victory in the Grade 1 Del Mar Oaks on Aug. 20.

The late Scat Daddy added two additional Grade/Group 1 winners to his résumé over the weekend, as Harmonize posted a breakthrough victory in the Del Mar Oaks and Lady Aurelia continued her globetrotting juvenile campaign by winning the Prix Morny in France.

The Del Mar Oaks was the first Grade 1 score for Harmonize, who won the Grade 3 Jessamine Stakes and the P.G. Johnson Stakes last year as a 2-year-old and added the Sanibel Island Stakes in her 2016 debut. She had finished third in the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes to Catch a Glimpse, second in the Wonder Again Stakes to Time and Motion, and fifth in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks, again to Catch a Glimpse, before heading to Del Mar.

Harmonize is the only winner out of the winning Sky Mesa mare Mesa Fresca. The mare is a half-sister to Maya, whose four stakes-performing offspring include multiple graded stakes winner Al Khali. It is the extended family of champion Queena and Grade 1 winners Verrazano, Keen Ice, and Somali Lemonade.

Lady Aurelia remained unbeaten in three career starts by adding the Prix Morny to her powerful score in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at England’s renowned Royal Ascot meeting. The filly is out of Puerto Rican Horse of the Year D’Wildcat Speed, who is also the dam of stakes-placed Titletown Five.

Scat Daddy died of a suspected cardiac event last December at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud in Kentucky. The son of Johannesburg was just 11. To date, he is represented by 598 winners, with 76 stakes winners, for earnings of $40,090,049. Those numbers are likely to grow. In addition to active older horses, a full crop of juveniles led by Lady Aurelia, and younger international runners, he will have two final North American crops, yearlings and weanlings of this year, on the track in coming seasons.

His other top runners include Grade/Group 1 winners Lady of Shamrock, No Nay Never, Dacita, and Nickname and multiple graded stakes winners such as Daddy Long Legs, Handsome Mike, Daddy Nose Best, Frac Daddy, El Kabeir, Dice Flavor, and Pretty N Cool. Scat Daddy also was a popular shuttle sire for Coolmore, finishing as the leading sire in Chile in 2013 and 2014. He is the sire of champions Il Campione, Dacita, Solaria, and El Bromista in that country.
