Sawtooth Mountain standing at Circle G in Oklahoma

In a deal brokered by Michael Slezak, stakes-placed Sawtooth Mountain has retired from racing and will enter stud at Wayne George’s Circle G Farms in Atoka, Okla.

The 6-year-old Johannesburg horse will stand for a $1,000 fee, with special consideration for approved mares.

Sawtooth Mountain won 4 of 50 starts, was runner-up in Ireland’s Coolmore Hurricane Run El Gran Senor Stakes, and earned $121,013 in four seasons at the track. He is out of the Quiet American mare American Jewel, who also produced stakes winner Awsugahnow. Sawtooth Mountain sold for $1 million at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling auction.
