Saturday Stakes roundup

In other Saturday stakes:

* Cetewayo ($3), a beaten favorite in each of his previous two starts, got back on track by winning the inaugural $100,000 Greenwood Cup Handicap at Philadelphia Park with an impressive last-to-first surge.

* Reuben ($6.80) dueled with Sure Shot Biscuit through the final half-mile and responded to strong handling by jockey Glenn Corbett to score a three-quarter length victory in the $64,200 John Wayne Stakes for Iowa-bred colts and geldings at Prairie Meadows. A victory by Sure Shot Biscuit, the three-time Iowa-bred Horse of the Year, would have made him the first Iowa-bred millionaire.

* Bold World ($2.60) won her fifth race in six starts this year, capturing the off-the-turf $50,000 Ocean Hotel Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Monmouth Park. Trainer Ronald Taylor said Bold World will make her next start in the Grade 3 Azalea Breeders' Cup Stakes at Calder.

* Eye Slew the City ($23.60) set all the pace and defeated 6-5 favorite Lady Cherie by 2 1/2 lengths in the the $50,000 Merry Time Stakes at Thistledown.

* Marquette ($28.20), a Grade 2 winner earlier in his career but idle for nearly two years until returning to the races with a fourth-place finish in April, rallied to a surprisingly easy 4 1/4-length victory in the $38,440 Kissin Kris Stakes at Calder.

* Bugs by Yawl ($17.60) kept Tailor Fit from winning his fourth consecutive Grade 1, $100,000 Remington Park Championship for Quarter Horses when he held off a late surge by the two-time world champion to win the race by a neck.
