Saturday stakes recaps (5/15/04)


* Due to Win Again was prominent throughout for a head win over Titia in the $50,000 Honeymoon Stakes at Louisiana Downs. Tincan Too, coupled in the wagering with Due to Win Again, finished third.

* Bronze Abe ($4.20), a 5-year-old Maryland-bred trained by Bud Delp, earned her third stakes victory of the season when she cruised to a 4 1/4-length win in the $75,000 Sweet N Sassy Handicap at Delaware Park.

* Cat Genius ($4.20), ridden by Dana Whitney, went wire to to wire to defeat Private Horde by 4 3/4 lengths in the $75,000 Waterford Park Handicap at Mountaineer.

* Defending champion Take Me Up beat Country Warrior by a nose in the $60,000 John Wayne Stakes for Iowa-breds at Prairie Meadows.

* Maryland shipper Pass Me the Salt ($10) defeated 9-5 favorite Strawberry Line by three-quarters of a length in the $51,200 Rhododendron Stakes at Charles Town.

* Outrageous Queen ($3.20) made the first start in her home state of Ohio a winning one, capturing the $45,000 Tomboy Stakes for 3-year-old fillies by 1 1/2 lengths at River Downs.

* Crocrock prevailed as the odds-on favorite in the 10,000 Lakes Stakes for Minnesota-breds on Saturday at Canterbury Park.

* Russian Rhythm, headed in the stretch, came again to land the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, England, in her first start in seven months.
