Vaca City Flyer wins the $73,500 Monterey Handicap at Bay Meadows on Saturday.

* Odds-on Vaca City Flyer ($3.40) stalked the early pace and pulled away in the stretch to record her third straight stakes triumph in the $73,500 Monterey Handicap at Bay Meadows. Vaca City Flyer set a Golden Gate Fields course record in her previous start. The victory Saturday was her 12th in 22 starts.

* At Arlington Park, Rich Fantasy blew the doors off her five rivals, winning the Ribbon Handicap by six lengths at 4-5 under jockey Francisco Torres. Coolwind put in a mild late rally to edge Lizzy's Township for second.

* Despite breaking slowly, Contrast ($4) rallied to take command in the stretch and drew off to score by 1 3/4 lengths in the $60,000 Red Cross Stakes, the opening-day feature at Monmouth Park.

* Pocomoonshine, dropping in to face statebreds for the first time following a sharp victory over high-priced optional claimers at Delaware Park, held off 13-1 longshot Proud Charm by 1 1/4 lengths to earn his first career stakes victory in the $56,050 Lyman Sprint Championship Handicap at Philadelphia Park.

* Amandatude had finished second in 6 of her 9 starts, including 3 of her last 4 races - but she displayed no signs of "seconditis" in her emphatic victory in the $55,300 Pollys Jet at Delaware Park.

* Stalking the pace under confident handling by Gerard Melancon, Hottamolly ($4.80) exploded down the lane to win the $50,000 Fantasia Stakes for statebred 3-year-old fillies at Louisiana Downs. Tortuga Flats settled for second, suffering only her second defeat from seven starts at the track.
