* Tate's Way ($3.60) rallied on the inside entering the stretch on the way to winning the $25,725 Ogataul Handicap at Fonner Park in Nebraska for the second straight year.

* Cutting back from a 1 1/16-mile race to five furlongs on turf, Sound of Gold beat Raymond's Dream by a neck to win the $35,000 Willowbrook for fillies and mares at San Houston Race Park in Houston, Texas. Sound of Gold paid $12.

* Funny Meeting ($19) sat just off a fast pace, rallied three wide on the turn, and won the Bill Thomas Memorial Handicap at Sunland Park (N.M). by four lengths. Favored Explosive Count was out of the money.
