Saturday stakes recaps


* Hide and Chic ($9.40), who won her first turf start in the Aug. 7 Royal North Stakes, scored over another new surface, Woodbine's recently installed Polytrack, in the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes.

* Me My Mine ($8) won his fourth straight race by a neck or less when he got up by a head in the $63,700 Phil D. Shepherd Stakes at Fairplex Park. The 6-year-old Me My Mine has won 12 of 42 and is 7 for 7 in photo finishes.

* The 6-year-old Random Gold ($4.40) became a stakes winner when he led throughout to win the $50,000 Chuck Taliaferro Memorial at Remington Park by 2 1/4 lengths.

* Ahead of Her Time ($5.40) survived a stewards' inquiry and picked up her first stakes win in the $50,000 Princess Stakes at Louisiana Downs.

* Mike'sgoodandtough ($4.40), a 3-year-old colt, and 3-year-old filly Julie B ($3.20) strengthened their credentials for next month's West Virginia Breeders Classic races by easily winning a pair of $40,000 preps at Charles Town.
