Saratoga: Zagora may go to Woodbine for Canadian

Zagora, who gave trainer Chad Brown his first Grade 1 win when she took the Diana here on July 30, could make her next start in the Grade 2, $300,000 Canadian at Woodbine on Sept. 18.

Brown had previously mentioned the Spinster at Keeneland in October as a potential spot for Zagora. Brown said he is leaning toward the Canadian as a possible prep for the $1 million E.P. Taylor at Woodbine on Oct. 16.

Brown said Zagora’s schedule could depend on what Stacelita does this weekend in the Beverly D at Arlington.

Both Zagora and Stacelita are owned by Martin Schwartz. While Stacelita has been made eligible for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, Zagora has not, Brown said.

Tizway back to track

Tizway, authoritative winner of the Grade 1 Whitney Invitational last Saturday, returned to the track for the first time Wednesday morning, jogging once around the Oklahoma training track.

“Just loosening him back up, get the kinks out of him,’’ trainer James Bond said.

Bond said Tizway came out of the Whitney “really good, thank God; looks super.’’

Tizway is being pointed to the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont on Oct. 1.
