SPOT PLAYS AND LIVE LONGSHOTS

Saratoga Race 3, (2:04 ET)

PERFECT PACKAGE (#6, 6-1) Z-pattern of sorts on her form after this filly was sent a little too long in her second start for Hushion. Figures to take more careful rating this time in a race noticeably void of much other speed; wouldn’t have to lead throughout, but sure seems like she’ll be prominent from the bell. Her kind of experience is highly valuable in a situation like this. – Marty McGee

Saratoga Race 3, (2:04 ET)

DOCTOR VICKIE LYNN (#5, 5-1) had a challenging trip in a deceptively quick race at Ellis Park recently, and managed a runner-up finish. Her trainer, Ken McPeek, can be dangerous with Ellis Park shippers. She also returns to seemingly her best distance of 1 1/8 miles, a trip over which she was twice third at Churchill Downs in the spring. – Byron King

Saratoga Race 4, (2:36 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

DIVADORA (#8, 10-1) I don't think her lone try turf, The Ticonderoga last fall run with a bit of give in the ground, was a true indicator of her turf ability. It was a solid group that produced four next-out winners, and she dueled between foes for over 5 furlongs before tiring. - Chuck Kuehhas

Saratoga Race 4, (2:36 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

RAKIN' GOLD (#4, 12-1) She lost to several of these fillies last year, but those defeats were either in the slop or on non-firm turf. She has won twice from three starts on firm turf, and will be third back from a layoff after taking her first-level allowance condition in a career-best effort. - Dave Litfin

Saratoga Race 5, (3:08 ET)

LAVENDER ROAD (#5, 5-1) has some very nice works showing for her first career start for trainer Abigail Adsit, a former assistant to trainer Linda Rice; this is the barn's first debut runner but that work tab strongly suggests Adsit has this filly ready. - Kenny Peck

Saratoga Race 8, (4:47 ET)

TABREED (5, 5-1) was as visually impressive in victory at Monmouth last time as any horse has been at that meet; she was flattered when the horse she ran right by, White Rose, shipped up to Saratoga herself and won an optional claimer (81 Beyer). - Kenny Peck

Saratoga Race 10, (5:52 ET) - LIVE LONGSHOT

KRISSY KAT (#4, 12-1) was a winner here last year, and now makes second 2013 start after trying wide run from last in paceless race off the bench; positive rider change noted. -  Mike Beer

VULNERABLE FAVORITES

Saratoga Race 3, (2:04 ET)

CAXAMBAS PASS (#3, 3-1) seems likely to go off as an overlay on the popularity of her connections – trainer Shug McGaughey and jockey Joel Rosario – and with her being a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Point of Entry. But in terms of what she has done on the track, she's not worth her anticipated price of around 5-2 come post time. - Byron King

Saratoga Race 10, (5:52 ET)

WELLSPRING LEGACY (5-2) has never sprinted on the turf, with both of her grass wins coming around two turns. She'll likely be looking for the lead but with SAROPIA in the field she doesn't figure to get away unpressured on the cutback from a route, and this drop into a claimer could be construed as a negative. - Kenny Peck
