SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Tiz Miz Sue, winner of the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps in her most recent start, will not run this weekend in either the Grade 1 Delaware Handicap or the Grade 3 Shuvee at Saratoga, according to trainer Steve Hobby.

Hobby said Tiz Miz Sue is getting a brief freshening at Foxtail Farm in Nicholasville, Ky., and will be pointed to the Grade 1 Personal Ensign at Saratoga on Aug. 25. Tiz Miz Sue, who was beaten a head by Royal Delta in last year's Delaware Handicap, finished fourth in last year's Personal Ensign.

Hobby said he chose to give Tiz Miz Sue a break now in order to have a fresher horse for later in the year with the hope of getting to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita in November.

"By the time we got to the fall last year we needed a break, so we decided to give her a break now," Hobby said.

Hobby does plan to be represented this weekend at Saratoga in the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks with Marathon Lady, who finished second in the Black-Eyed Susan and third in the Mother Goose.

Others pointing to that race include Kentucky Oaks winner Princess of Sylmar, Unlimited Budget, and Cue the Moon. Trainer Todd Pletchersaid Javier Castellano would ride Princess of Sylmar, replacing Mike Smith, who will be at Delaware to ride Royal Delta. Smith rode Princess of Sylmar in the Kentucky Oaks.
