Saratoga reserved seats go on sale Monday

The sale of reserved seats for the Saratoga season will be rolled out on three dates beginning Monday, according to the New York Racing Association.

Season seating packages for the full 40-day meet will go on sale March 30 at 10 a.m. Eastern. Weekly seating packages will be available starting April 20. Daily seats will go on sale May 11. The number of weekly and daily seats may be limited as the full-season packages take first priority.

For the first time, NYRA will bundle the cost of admission with seat purchases. Daily grandstand admission is $5 and clubhouse admission is $8, the same as in 2014.

“Individuals who attend a major league sporting event are used to paying one price for admission and seating and our guests at Saratoga will now do the same,” said Christopher Kay, president and CEO of NYRA.

Those purchasing season seat packages will receive a price break on admission, as they will pay the cost of a grandstand or clubhouse season pass rather than the daily admission fee. A Saratoga grandstand season pass will cost $35 and a clubhouse pass will cost $55. Those prices are each up $5 from last year. Saratoga season admission passes will go on sale March 30.

NYRA officials would not release exact prices for seats on Thursday, only saying “there will be marginal increases in seat prices” over last year. In 2014, grandstand seats were $9 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and $11 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Clubhouse seats were $13 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and $18 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

NYRA officials did say that this year, Fridays will be part of the weekday pricing and not the weekend pricing.

Travers Day prices are expected to increase from last year when clubhouse seats cost $35 and grandstand seats were $25.

Season seating packages can be purchased through NYRA Account Manager in partnership with Ticketmaster. For the first time, customers will be able to select their seats using an online, interactive map. Season tickets will be mailed to guests in mid-June. The address for NYRA Account manager is https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/nyra/EN/account/login.

The Saratoga season runs from July 24 through Labor Day, Sept. 7. The Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers will be Aug. 29 and the Grade 1, $1.25 million Whitney is scheduled for Aug. 8.
