Initial medical tests on Overdriven, winner of the Sanford, were inconclusive, so additional testing will be performed Monday.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - A nuclear scintigraphy performed on leading 2-year-old Overdriven was inconclusive and the colt will undergo further tests on Monday, trainer Todd Pletcher said Sunday.

After canceling two workouts in a nine-day period because he didn’t like the way the colt was moving, Pletcher shipped Overdriven to the New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa., for a nuclear scintigraphy.

“Inconclusive so far, they’re going to do some more tests tomorrow, so we should know more for sure,’ Pletcher said. “They found some areas that they couldn’t truly identify, they’re going to do some follow-up X-rays.’’

Overdriven, a son of Tale of the Cat owned by Mike Repole, won his debut on July 1 by 3 1/2 lengths, earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 100. He came back on July 24 to win the Grade 2 Sanford Stakes by four lengths at Saratoga.
