Mildly Offensive, making her first start since being transferred to trainer Todd Pletcher’s barn earlier this summer, withstood a torrid pace duel and a late try from Kid Kate to post a well-deserved half-length victory in Friday’s $100,000 Big Bambu Stakes at Saratoga.
Dancinginherdreams rallied belatedly to finish third.

Mildly Offensive, a 4-year-old homebred daughter of Sharp Humor owned by WinStar Farm, finished fourth after contesting the pace earlier this season in the Grade 1 Humana Distaff. A stakes winner at 3 with trainer Carla Gaines, Mildly Offensive had not started since finishing seventh and last in the Grade 2 Agleam Handicap on July 14 at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Mildly Offensive returned $5.70 as the favorite in a field of seven older fillies and mares.
The setback was the first in five career starts at Saratoga for Kid Kate.

OUR HEAT has a win and a second in two turf tries here. She has been favored both time but is meeting tougher today. Like her style, sitting back a bit early and then unleashing a strong closing kick. She seems to like the turf and graduated in a straight maiden grass race. The breeding is heavily slanted to turf. BEEZAROO has hit the board in her past five starts at this level. Has outrun her breeding on turf and scored her lone career victory over the Lakeside Turf Course. Rider chose top pick over her, but she's picked up leading ridder for this.
