Saratoga internet plays for Friday

Friday, September 1

Should have put in a minimum odds requirement for La Coruna, who was 2-1 on the morning line for Thursday's opener but went off at the insanely low price of 75 cents to the dollar. She raced wide on both turns, stayed on her left lead through the stretch and checked in second to Stag Dancer - who has now won two in a row after beginning her career with 18 straight losses.

La Coruna's loss meant no parlay onto This Just In in race 3.

We are running out of days, and digging a deeper hole.

Seaside Salute has the rail post against $25,000 claiming routers who lack early speed, and is making his third start back from a layoff. He has a record of 2-1-0 from four starts on Saratoga's main track, as opposed to a 1-3-2 record from 16 starts anywhere else, and has as many wins at 1 1/8 miles as the eight others combined.

The main obstacle standing in Seaside Salute's way is Caiman, who has been moving back up the class ladder since front bandages came off in early June, and who missed in a head-bob finish against a deeper field of $25K claimers two weeks ago.

The bet: $25 exacta box of Caiman and Seaside Salute.
