Saratoga: Funny Proposition set for Adirondack

Funny Proposition, a debut winner at Churchill Downs for trainer Mark Casse, completed preparations for a start in next Sunday’s Grade 2, $150,000 Adirondack Stakes for 2-year-old fillies by working five furlongs in 1:02.15 on Saturday morning.

After working twice over the main track with another horse, Saturday’s move was done by herself.

“We wanted a 1:02 with a light gallop out,” said Justin Casse, brother of and assistant to Mark Casse. “She had put in two previous works in company spotting the horse a couple of lengths and then coming to get them. She has trained better than any horse in the barn over this surface. We couldn’t be more pleased with where she is.”

Justin Casse noted that perhaps one reason Funny Proposition likes Saratoga is because she is a daughter of Medaglia d’Oro, who won the Jim Dandy, Travers, and Whitney Handicap over this track.

Others pointing to the Adirondack include Anna Sophia, Millionreasonswhy, Morning Shine, My Miss Aurelia, New Wave, Ullapool, and possibly Select Cat.
