Centre Court seeks her fourth straight win Sunday, when she heads a field of six entered in the Grade 2, $200,000 Lake Placid Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on the turf. Centre Court, a daughter of Smart Strike, comes off a neck victory in the Grade 2 Lake George here July 25. That race was at 1 1/16 miles. The Lake Placid is at 1 1/8 miles, the distance of her two wins at Churchill, including the Grade 3 Regret. “When we looked at the two races, we thought the toughest one for her would be the mile and a sixteenth,” Arnold said of the Lake George. “Her two mile-and-an-eighth races at Churchill were by far her two best races.” The Lake Placid field includes the second-, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-place finishers in the Lake George: Better Lucky, Stephanie’s Kitten, Medolina, and Somali Lemonade. Disposablepleasure, who has not raced on the turf since her debut here last summer, completes the field. [LAKE PLACID: Get PPs, watch video analysis, and read latest news]
