Despite some rain and a muddy racetrack, trainer Bret Calhoun sent his graded stakes winner Bahnah out to work an easy half-mile in 51.60 over the Oklahoma training track Friday. The undefeated Bahnah finished in a dead heat for first with Brazen Persuasion on opening day in the Grade 3 Schuylerville.

“I was going to work her on the turf this morning just to do something different and get her on the grass,” Calhoun said. “But with the turf works canceled because of the rain, I went ahead and worked her on the training track, and I was very happy. She went too fast last week; she worked in the fog on the main track, and I wanted to slow her down today, and we got what we want.”

Bahnah will return in the Grade 1 Spinaway on Sept. 1.
