Santiva relocates to Questroyal North in New York

Grade 2 winner Santiva will relocate to Questroyal North in Stillwater, N.Y., for the 2015 breeding season, where he will stand for an advertised fee of $2,500.

The 5-year-old son of Giant’s Causeway stood at Swifty Farms in Seymour, Ind., during the 2014 season. His first foals will be yearlings of 2015.

“We are thrilled to welcome Santiva, who will be a most valuable addition to the Questroyal stallion roster,” said Barry Ostrager, owner of Questroyal North. “New York breeders will now have the opportunity to breed to one of Giant’s Causeway’s most precocious sons.”

Santiva won 1 of 10 career starts during his on-track career for earnings of $266,097. He won his maiden in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes, and earned placings in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity and Grade 2 Risen Star Stakes.

Bred in Kentucky by Paget Bloodstock, Santiva is out of the unraced Smarten mare Slide, whose eight winners from 11 foals to race also include Grade 2-placed Her Majesty and Take Arms. Slide is a half-sister to champion Safely Kept and to Grade 2 winner and sire Partner’s Hero.
