Santa Anita: Two-day pick six carryover of $239K will have to wait until Sunday

ARCADIA, Calif. - There is a two-day carryover of $239,519 after Friday’s card at Santa Anita, but the gigantic pool will not be up for grabs until Sunday.

As a special promotion on Saturday, Santa Anita is joining with Gulfstream Park in Florida for a $1 pick six combining three races in the Sunshine Millions series at each venue. As a result, the pick six solely on Santa Anita’s races has been suspended on Saturday and will resume on Sunday.

Friday was a tricky day in the pick six at Santa Anita. The longshots Melrose Woods ($92.40) in the fourth race and Pop the Cork ($35.60) in the sixth race were left off of most tickets.

Going into the last race, there were two horses covered in the pick six – the outsiders Mr Newton (16-1) and Burr Tango (17-1) but they finished second and eighth.

Saturday’s 10-race program at Santa Anita includes five stakes and begins at noon, Pacific.

For Saturday, there is a carryover of $26,156 in the $1 super high five on the 10th race.
