Amateur photographers will have the run of Santa Anita on Friday when the track hosts its first Photo Day this year.
A successful promotion in the past, Photo Day provides photographers with an up-close look at morning workouts, a chance to meet trainers, a stable tram tour, and an opportunity to shoot races in the afternoon.
Registered photographers will be granted access to the track’s paddock and winner’s circle during racing.
Advance registration is available for $20 on the track’s website, santaanita.com, or on the day of the event from 7:30 a.m. for $25.
Children aged 17 and under can register for $12. The fee covers admission, parking, breakfast, and a one-day press credential.

DRINK OR SINK went too fast on the lead last time before fading on the turf at Tampa, and should be less aggressive here with blinkers off. Olguin was aboard for his good fall races on the Poly, and should have him closing at a square price in his second start of the year. GOOD BETTER BEST finished up the track behind two next-out winners when he tried the dirt for the first time March 30 at Gulfstream. He hasn't faced this easy a field in a while, and is no stranger to filling out the exactor.
