Trainer Ron McAnally said Friday that Suggestive Boy is a candidate for the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile on turf April 12.
“That looks like a logical spot,” McAnally said. “The timing is good, a little more than a month. Everything is good.”
Suggestive Boy has won both of his starts this year – the Grade 2 Arcadia Stakes on Feb. 2 and the Grade 1 Frank Kilroe Mile on March 2. He could face a very tough job in the Maker’s 46 Mile.
The Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile could be the first start of 2013 for Wise Dan, the 2012 Horse of the Year. Wise Dan won the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Santa Anita last November, a race in which Suggestive Boy was seventh. A 5-year-old, Suggestive Boy won three consecutive Group 1 races in Argentina in 2011.
Goldikova would beat any of these on her worst (not worest) day

Great reporting, where the hell do they run the race?

Best Bets
So how can a horse that has not won since 2010 be a Best Bet? SEATTLE RULER has run two "winning" races as the odds-on pick at this level in his past two starts but come up less than a length short both times after giving way in the stretch. Past class has nearly double the bankroll of the second-highest earning horse in the field. Has plenty of speed and a perfect outside draw to try again in this conditioned heat. He has a pair of solid works for the leading trainer and gets the leading rider again.
