Santa Anita: Suggestive Boy eyes $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile

Suggestive Boy has won both of his starts this year and might run next in the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile on the Keeneland turf April 12.

Trainer Ron McAnally said Friday that Suggestive Boy is a candidate for the $300,000 Maker’s 46 Mile on turf April 12.

“That looks like a logical spot,” McAnally said. “The timing is good, a little more than a month. Everything is good.”

Suggestive Boy has won both of his starts this year – the Grade 2 Arcadia Stakes on Feb. 2 and the Grade 1 Frank Kilroe Mile on March 2. He could face a very tough job in the Maker’s 46 Mile.

The Grade 1 Maker’s 46 Mile could be the first start of 2013 for Wise Dan, the 2012 Horse of the Year. Wise Dan won the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Santa Anita last November, a race in which Suggestive Boy was seventh. A 5-year-old, Suggestive Boy won three consecutive Group 1 races in Argentina in 2011.
