Santa Anita pick six pays $65,197 to 12 winners


ARCADIA, Calif. -  The pick six paid $65,197 to 12 ticketholders at Santa Anita on Monday after interest in the bet soared following a one-day carryover of $119,278.

Bettors added $1,230,230 to the pool on Monday.

Beginning in the fourth race, the winners of Monday’s pick six races were Toledo Eddie ($7), Vanlose Stairway ($52.40), Hearitforthegirls ($14.60), Pontchatrain ($7), Rovenna ($4.80), and Dixieland Blues ($12.20)

Only Rovenna was favored. Toledo Eddie and Pontchatrain were the second betting choices.

Following Pontchatrain’s win in the Grade 2 Buena Vista Stakes, there were 210 tickets still alive in the pick six with two legs remaining. The win by Rovenna narrowed the list of live tickets to 104.

Consolation tickets with five winners were worth $581.

Hearitforthegirls was the work horse. Vanlose Stairway Sadler. The only reason I can see this being hit. You needed to go 6 deep in the race down the hill. Pontchatrain and Rovena were solid singles.I didn't play it, but hit the late pick 4 . I wouldn't have hit it, if I played it. Too hard to find a square for Vanlose Stairway. Congrats to those who did.
