ARCADIA, Calif.- There were no winning favorites in Saturday’s pick six races, leading to a carryover of $97,259 for Sunday’s nine-race program at Santa Anita.
The pick six races are the fourth through ninth races on Sunday.
Three of those races had scratches early on Saturday. In the fourth race, Cravin’ the Heat has been withdrawn. In the sixth race, Truism, Obsess, and Typhoon Slew will not start. In the eighth, Sizzling Gold is out of the $75,000 Wishing Well Stakes.
The Wishing Well Stakes is run for fillies and mares over about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course. Nechez Dawn is the 7-2 favorite on the morning line, but must beat the stakes winners Byrama (9-2) and Rumor (5-1) in a field of 12.
The shortest-priced favorite on the morning line for Sunday’s pick six races is Racy Rosa in the ninth race, a maiden claimer over seven furlongs. Racy Rosa is 8-5 in a field of 10.
Best Bets
SHE'S STONES SIS stepped forward with first try at this distance three back, dueling the pace and then gamely denying the runnerup while well clear of the rest; fell short trying similar tactics last time but was again well clear in second, and there doesn't appear to be much other speed entered against her here. TAHOE TIGRESS was given a perfect trip and ride and it was just enough to track down 7/5 class-dropper Nuffsaid Nuffsaid last time; owns previous win over a mile.
