Santa Anita: Pick six carryover of $231,345 for Sunday's card
Email
ARCADIA, Calif .- There is a two-day pick six carryover of $231,345 for Sunday’s nine-race program at Santa Anita, the first major carryover of the winter-spring meeting.
The pick six carryover was clinched after Chasing the Heat ($59) won Saturday’s ninth race for $12,500 claimers. There is also a carryover of $26,860 in the $1 super high five for Sunday’s ninth race.
Sunday’s pick six covers the fourth through ninth races on a nine-race program that begins at 12:30 p.m. Pacific.
There was one scratch on Saturday for Sunday’s pick six races: Bud Matic in the ninth race.
The pick six races have decent field sizes, with 8, 8, 11, 12, 7, and 12 runners. The sixth race has drawn 14 runners, but three of them – What a Spot, Heat Du Jour, and Target Engaged – are on the also-eligible list of a maiden special weight race on the hillside turf course. The final field for that race will be announced early Sunday.
There will a key horse to start Sunday’s pick six sequence. In the first leg, the fourth race, the well-regarded unraced maiden Demonic will be favored to win a race for 3-year-olds over seven furlongs.
Demonic is 5-2 on the morning-line in a field of eight.
The shortest price on the morning-line for Sunday’s pick six races is Jeranimo in the $150,000 San Gabriel Stakes over 1 1/8 miles on turf.
Jeranimo is listed at 9-5, searching for his first stakes win since the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mike at Betfair Hollywood Park last June.

They make SUCKERS out of the Race Fan, by WAIVING a Carrott in their face, then allowing a Trainer to have more then one Horse in a Race WITHOUT be coupled. When it comes to this kind of money TRUST no one. Then, they write Races in the Pick -6 such as Maiden Claimers in ORDER to get the BIG investors to SPREAD or BUY the Race. Management should have NO INTREST in the outcome of ANY Race, this is NOT LAS VEGAS...............

DRINK OR SINK went too fast on the lead last time before fading on the turf at Tampa, and should be less aggressive here with blinkers off. Olguin was aboard for his good fall races on the Poly, and should have him closing at a square price in his second start of the year. GOOD BETTER BEST finished up the track behind two next-out winners when he tried the dirt for the first time March 30 at Gulfstream. He hasn't faced this easy a field in a while, and is no stranger to filling out the exactor.
